Since Monday I've been working off and on a case. Come to find out today that the problem I thought I was fixing they fixed Tuesday based on my recommendations. The problem they are fixing now happens every night at about the same time. It didn't occur to anybody to ask what is happening at that time during the night. I asked and discovered the customer is doing disk maintenance - defrag/etc - and a backup at the same time. I told him to not run disk maintenance when he is trying to run a backup....
