I plan to get into Quilt Racks having different leg and arm thickness to be joined to the main upright.

JJ what about a depth stop?

And are you going to use Brad Point bits?

I did on the quilt rack I built as a test, in fact I do most of my drilling on my thread/bobbin thread holder with the brad point, with #6&8 taper bits on the screw holes. I have a set of stop collars.
I will show you a picture of the rack I built as a test, just used 1 good looking 2x4 ripped to the right parts before I venture into Oak and other wood.

I have that unit, or one very similar. It works very well for what it is.

Used it to join together the three boards that make up our headboard and it hasn't shown a crack in over 5 years so I guess they hold up.

JJold, that looks like a good unit. I see that it centers on up to 2" material which is better than a lot of others. It also includes the dowel centers which are usually $10 by themselves.

For $39....go for it.

Good grief oversold already, but I found the same one in the new Grizzly 2011 book for $33.95 and it can drill 2 holes without moving the jig.
