Thanks for the reply. The picture says it all and I will do many test cuts on a smooth surface.

Neewood, when starting a new question please start a new thread.

The answer for your question, "Yes the neck has an angle cut."

See your plan for the correct angle.

Corrections of the angle are made by removing material from the neck block. This should look like a dove tail joint.

With the neck angle gauge installed on the neck check the fit of the neck to the neck block. Do this without glue. Gluing the neck in place is the final step after making sure that the neck is at the correct angle.

I was looking at 151jpg and was wondering if there was two angles on the heel of the neck or just one? I would appreciate it if you could give me those angles.
ON your drawing of the 1/16 violin it appears to be two and can these angles be applied to a full size violin.

The photo referenced is a second angle. This angle should be horizontal (even with) the the back plate tab.

If you mount the belly of the instrument first, then set the neck, some of the neck should extend below the neck block. The excess will be trimmed flush to the neck block

If you mount the back plate before setting the neck the second angle will need to be cut prior to setting the neck. As this is a guess, the proper angle needed is hard to measure.

I would advise mounting the top plate first.
