Default Hey Boxman

Thinking of getting this.

Instead of this again.

I doin't think Ridgid is made for the work that I have and will be doing.

But I need the Oscillating small drums for my scroll work and the belt for flat sanding and long stock curves..
They currently fit my budget.

An edge sander is out of my price range for a long while.

I have that spindle sander and it's quite a little workhorse for the size...make a fitting so you can hook it up to your DC and you'll never get a spec of dust escaping. I've seen the belt/disc combo sander and I probably wouldn't buy one, it's below inexpensive and on to down right cheap.

I'd think hard about stretching the dollars and going with one of these:

I have the Ryobi version of that spindle sander and it works quite well. Mine has a port under the table that will take a 2½" shop vac hose.

They usually do for the local stores here. If not I believe they'll order it and deliver to the store for no extra charge...

There's this new invention I've heard about. I believe it's called a "telephone" or some such. If you know anyone who has one perhaps they would let you try it.

It was 8:30 when I posted that, so I sent a pigeon with a note asking,

OK Lorax the Pigeon came back and they had it at the store, so I used that four wheel thing of a bob to see it first hand, looked good but did not like the table support rod nothing more than a 3/4" hunk of round steel rod tightened by 2 allen 1/4" screws, the sales clerk said the older models had a flat side on the rod that slid in and could not turn letting the set screws work better since there was no movement L/R on the old style table, the machine was and looked very good, building a dust hood would be a no brainer for the belt, the disc just had a slot on the down side, but again I do not see an issue making a hose fitting for that as well.
Since that rod will always seat in the same place when I move the table to the belt I may tap the rod with an indent and then use a 1/4 x20 threaded knob.

For $199 I was impressed on how well it was built, nice stand and it is nice and heavy, 91 lb total.

Check on the cost of abrasives before you jump on it...you know you'll need to buy some. Might could make a deal with CC the abrasive hoarder....
