Several of those gravity feed HVLP guns from HF are darned good guns regardless of price.

This one in particular, is outstanding:

I own and use this one and it's every bit as good as my DeVilbis Finishline HVLP that was the better part of $200.00.

The thing to keep in mind with this style is that you need an air compressor that puts out more than 5 SCFM to paint for any length of time. The Earlex and other turbine HVLP systems don't need an air compressor, they have a turbine blower. Not quite apples and oranges but it does factor in overall cost of setup and ownership.

Last week HF had this on sale for 9.99.

http://www.harborfreight.com/20-oz-h...gun-47016.html

heck, for that price, how could you go wrong?
HF really stands behind
their products. Cliff bought a floor nailer from HF a couple of years
ago, after a couple of months it broke, they sent him a new one and
a return pre-paid shipping label to return the broken one.

He paid 129.00 for the nailer, when it broke it was then on sale for
99.00...I called and mentioned the price difference and
they credited his credit card for the 30.00 difference.

Default More to look at...

Thanks all.... now I am back to the beginning with my decision - lol.

These sprayers do seem to do the trick too, even though much cheaper. I guess question is how well do they apply varnishes and different types of paint. Does anyone have experiences with those or have any side to side comparisons?

I get the thing about overkill although I don't see it that way. I am not worried to spend the money if it is worth the investment and pays off in the long run. I hate to keep buying cheaper products that may last only a year but then I have to purchase another one and another one.... you get my point.

Definitely good for me to look at those other sprayers though. So thanks again!!!!

Default Earlex HVLP 5500

I know I about drove everyone crazy asking questions. But if anyone is looking to buy a sprayer, I can highly recommend the Earlex HVLP 5500. I did a lot of (and I mean ALOT) research and comparing as you all could probably figure out and finally bought one this past week. I am still getting used to spraying (adjusting the flow) on scrap boards but I love it! Two thumbs up from my end!
