Default Anyone use Plastic Resin Glue before???

The stuff David Marks speaks highly of for some long open times on extended glue ups.

Bought a little bit at Ace and am going to try it on that tool chest carcase.

Just wondering if anyone's used it before and has some suggestions.

It sure looks easy on TV, but then again, I guess that's the point of a TV show...

Sure have.

if it doesn't mix smoothly it's old Oh and it needs to be 70 degrees or warmer for it to cure properly.. takes about 12 hours or so to do so too. But when it's dry it's rigid as hell and won't creep on ya.

Used it a bunch earlier this year. Pretty easy stuff to work with. My only suggestion would be lots of wax paper under the item you are glueing unless you want it on everything. When i started applying clamp pressure, the chit dripped everywhere.

Didn't know that. That would be a deal breaker for me this time of year. Bad enough when I have to heat the shop to 55š.

Gracias all.

I mixed up a small batch. It was 70* in the shop and I like the open time. I blue-taped all the joints, we'll see if that makes cleanup easier.

Jaws - I went with Weldwood Plastic Resin glue.

Ace (of course) had a small container (qt?) for about 8 bux. I got a feeling that's gonna last forever.

It's 5 parts powder to 2 parts water.

The warmer it is, the less the cure time is. Everything's on the side of the container.

Looked especially sweet for the dovetails - didn't tack up like the PVA glue. Kind'a took the stress out'a the glue up. Not like having a big countdown timer in your head screaming "10, 9, 8 - FASTER, FASTER, 6, 5, 4..."
