Default So...

What do i need to know about making beadboard?? My psuedo step dad had some cabinets made out of hickory, paid the contractor, but the contractor skipped town and failed to pay the sub.(yes, he now knows he should have paid the subs directly, i wish he would have asked me before hand but didn't) anyways the cabinet guy had installed the cabinets but hadn't placed the beadboard in the doors, and won't finish the job unless he gets paid. (don't blame him, i wouldn't want to work for free either) My step dad is now stuck having paid for cabinets, but they are not finished. He had to have them made out of hickory, easy wood to find, right?? NO.... Anyways he wants the fronts to be hickory beadboard, ive found a supplier of 1/4 ply hickory here in houston, but never done the bead board thing before. What bit do you use, and is there anything specail i need to know before i try and remedy the situation??

1/8" veining or straight bit would prolly work. Thats what I'd start with.

How is that stuff made though??? Are the grooves cut after it's all glued up??? I have no idea.

It just reminds me of kerf cutting a board to bend it.

In that case... my next concern would be getting the depth absolutely perfect, and then figuring out a way that it doesn't chipout like freaking crazy.
