Default I am making this

This is the pattern I am following. No pictures of what I am making some old fart didn't take any pictures of the first try. Any who what I did was cut out each piece of the side runs 5 in all on the scroll saw 3/4" Thick x 1 1/2" Wide x 5" Long, turned the top and bottom but left the top whole I need the center point yet. Spaced them 3/4" between each rail drilled up from the bottom base with #6 3/4" screws made a cap lip for the top that the rails set in around the circle, now the fun part I put the unit in the lathe between centers using only pressure to hold the top on, full face shield and a piece of plywood as an apron protecting my chest, now if everything is centered it should spin balanced and not explode into the shop from rotation. SO I stand to the right and flip the switch and presto a smooth spin, now the good part I did the indentations into the vase very gentle on the touch as to not have the gouge do a wall stop on me and hello duck you fool.Ya know what it turned down with out issues, and I used foam sanding blocks to sand it down, turning out nice, I plan on other vases for my online shops. Plan on making the flowers also.

That's ... flowery, but

Now, if you put some custom pens in it except for flowers, it'd be just plain as hail.

Very cool!

I've been pondering a hollowing system lately. Finally have the tool budget built back up a bit and can't decide on that or a new sharpening system first....
