Default CNC yes. Woodworking?... I don't know.

I got an interesting call..."can your CNC do this?"

They want to chuck a pen in the router and use the CNC as a giant plotter to sketch drawings on 4 foot by 6 foot panels, that will be hand painted later. Like a giant comic book. 150 in all, they'll need 20 per day.

Just tried a test run. I drew a flower on the table. A few minor bugs to work out, but basically worked like a charm. I'll be sure to take some pictures if the job actually materializes.

Anybody ever attempted something like this? And what to charge?

sorry... I assumed you meant rpm's.

The move speed I did at 1.5 inches per second. Blue sharpie. Worked great.

Thought so. Seemed pointless to spin the pen. Nice and quiet too.

Why wouldn't you charge your normal hourly/material rate?

I'm throwing darts... I imagine it would be less than cutting as there's only one pass necessary...but without having seen the actual artwork yet, it's difficult to estimate how long it will take.
